“When we are no longer able to change a situation,
we are challenged to change ourselves.”
– Viktor E. Frankel
Individual Therapy
When working with individuals our aim is to offer a safe space for clients to explore their feelings, beliefs and behaviours, to share their stories and reflect.
Our therapists work in a variety of ways to help you identify the beliefs and behaviours that are preventing you from living fulfilling lives. Together we explore new and different possibilities of thinking so that your authentic self can emerge and thrive in a more rewarding way.
At Gorey Therapy Centre we have extensive experience in providing individual therapy for:
- Depression
- Anxiety & Panic Attacks
- Trauma – adult and childhood
- Relational Trauma – the prolonged experience of being bullied, belittled, not responded to, being given too much responsibility, or exposed to too much or unmanageable anxiety.
- Anger management-understanding what causes extreme reactions, and its impact on your life and your relationships.
- Illness – how it impacts you and your relationships.
- Grief, Bereavement and Loss.
- Life or Family Transitions – employment changes, moving home, births, and supporting children in their development to adulthood.
- Self-harm
- Self Esteem – understanding and having a healthy relationship with yourself and exploring your view of yourself are the keys that unlock the blocks to healthy self-esteem.
- Medical Conditions – navigating your way through a serious illness (physical or mental) can be devastating and isolating. We offer a supportive space to explore its impact.
- Abuse – emotional, physical or sexual.
